Dr Tess Mauricio, "America's Favorite Dermatologist" is a Board Certified Dermatologist, graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The University of California San Diego. She is the founder of M Beauty by Dr Tess clinics. She is the youngest woman and only Filipina to hold the position of President of The San Diego Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr Tess is author of the book, California Total Beauty, renowned speaker, physician educator and has educated thousands across the globe in technologies she has helped pioneer and continues to be at the forefront of technological advances as a leader in her field. She was awarded the prestigious Asian Heritage Award in 2009, the US Department of Commerce Association "Best in San Diego 2010" and was named one of the Best Dressed Women in San Diego. She also received the Bayanihan Spirit Award for Health Care in 2013. Less than a year after opening a new clinic in La Jolla, Dr. Tess became a Gold Medal Winner in the La Jolla Village News "Readers Choice Awards 2011" after being voted Best Dermatologist. Being born in the Philippines and immigrating to the US at the age of 12, Dr. Tess feels a deep connection to her Filipino roots and has given back to the local Filipino community and the Philippines. She continues to be involved with La Salle University and Kundirana's Project, "Bahay Pag-Asa (House of Hope)", a shelter and training facility for troubled and incarcerated youth of the Philippines. On her last visit to the Philippines, Dr. Tess inspired a generation of La Salle University medical students and young physicians with her volunteer teaching.
